We have now updated both our internal and external website sites using a layout that was developed jn house by the IT department. It is very intuitive and easy to navigate.  The step by step guide below describes how to update a section/document on the intranet or staff support portal  The same process is to be followed to update the external site. The IT Department provide relevant staff with passwords to access the intranet admin area. There are two sections available for updating on the webpage, either by posting to the homepage or adding a document.

  1. Firstly, go the Intranet home page, add admin to the url and press return. Then enter your log in and password.
  2. To post to the home page: Select add post in the dashboard view, select the relevant category. Add the title, enter or copy in the text. Select update. Then go back and check by selecting visit site if the post was successful. Posts are automatically added to the new section and track forward in date order.
  3. To add a document: Prior to adding a document to the Intranet, save it in the f drive folder/WCA Website 2019/Intranet/relevant sub folder. This will make it easier to locate and upload
  4. Then log onto the Intranet home page as before by adding admin to the url and press return. Then enter your log in and password. Select add media. In this view, select add new. This allows you to return to the f drive and select the document you want. If you have saved it already in the f drive website folder, this part is easier. Then save it in the relevant subfolder in the intranet file directory.
  5. Next select page in the dashboard view, select the relevant section for where the update/document will be filed. In the main section of the page, type out the name of the document as you want it when published. Copy this wording using control and C.
  6. Then select add media, go to the admin subfolder and select the document you want. In the document box on the right, delete the title that was pre-set and press control and V. This ensures your uploaded document will have your preferred title. Select update. Then go back to visit the site and ensure that the document has uploaded properly.
  7. Documents can be replaced by going to the document location page on the Intranet in the dashboard view and breaking the link using the right mouse. This allows you to amend the heading and upload/replace a link following the same pathway.
  8. The same steps are to be followed to update the External Website.
